Great Yarmouth man braves 15 hours of exams for top qualification

A Great Yarmouth man has just passed one of the world's toughest computing qualifications – with flying colours.

27 year old David Pitt attended a rigorous boot camp-style training course and sat through 15 hours of exams to become a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA).

He's an expert technician for CSS Computers, based in Great Yarmouth’s Gapton Hall industrial estate.

It means David is now a certified Microsoft expert, and can build and support high level Microsoft systems.

David said: "I had heard that this was a tough qualification to get, and when I saw the syllabus, I realised the training wouldn’t be easy.

"The Microsoft course is run in a boot camp style, where it's nose to the grindstone day and night for two and half weeks. Then you have to sit five different three hour exams!"

"I'm glad I did it though, as it has made me one of the most qualified Microsoft computer technicians in Great Yarmouth."

CSS Computers installs networks and PCs for local businesses, then maintains them and trains staff to use them.

The business was set up in Yarmouth 18 years ago.

The firm's MD Peter Green said: "We are delighted for David. He's a very hard working person, and deserves this qualification. Our customers will benefit from David's knowledge, and that’s worth the thousands of pounds we paid for him to get it."
